Support the Homeless...

Do you have a desire to help the homeless? According to statistics, there are still more than 7,000 Virginia residents who do not have a permanent shelter to live in, and around 100 million people around the world who are homeless. This is an alarming estimate and one of the ministries CWM is currently supporting is a project in Virginia Beach now being spearheaded by Mrs. Veronica who currently serves at PIN Ministry homeless shelter. We ask anyone who has blankets, jackets, clothes, hats, socks, shoes, children's clothes, pillows, and anything that might benefit the homeless just sitting around in your homes to bring them in on Sunday between 8AM-12PM at the address located at the very top of this website. If you are interested in donating to the homeless, but are unable to personally deliver those items, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will help you help the homeless. If you are interested in volunteering, we are scheduled to volunteer at PIN Ministry every third Saturday of the month for the remainder of the year. The Bible says in James 1:27, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Support Our Food Drive...

Starting November 22, 2015 CWM will begin a Food Drive with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore at the 800 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, Virginia location. If you have any can foods, dry foods, box foods, or anything that doesn't need to be refrigerated that is not expired, please bring it on Sunday to the address located at the very top of this website between 8AM-12PM. According to the United Nations Environment Programme, approximately one-third of the food produced in the world is wasted annually, which is equivalent to 1.3 billion tons of food. Statistics also suggest that approximately 795 million people around the world do not have enough food to eat. The question that needs to be answered is: How is it possible that so much food is wasted while so many people around the world do not have enough food to eat? The numbers are staggering! There is no excuse that anyone in the world should be hungry with the massive amount of food produced. Therefore, CWM will support the Food Drive and pray that our efforts will provide food for the hungry. Please help us help others!

Christian Way Ministries wants to do its part in decreasing the epidemic of suicide around the world. According to statistics, The World Health Organization estimates that one million people die each year from suicide, which calculates to one suicide every 40 seconds. Furthermore, suicide is estimated to double by year 2020 to around one suicide every 20 seconds across the globe. In the United States alone, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death according to Suicide Awareness Voices of Education for all ages and is the second leading cause of death for 15-24 years old. These are extraordinary numbers, which makes it imperative for the church to become more of an active voice in demonstrating the love of God to the people of God. Suicide Prevention is everyone's responsibility and Christian Way Ministries wants to become an active participant in Suicide Prevention by training its people on recognizing the signs and how to triage a suspected suicide victim. Education and training is one of the primary tools for Suicide Prevention along with demonstrating the love of God. The demonstration of God's love becomes even more critical when there are no obvious symptoms of suicide in someone's life. The only counter-measure the church possesses at its disposal for these difficult cases where the signs are not so obvious is to demonstrate the love God to everyone it encounters. Sometimes, people just need to know that they are loved, and who can better demonstrate the love of God than the body of Christ... 

Therefore, if anyone who may be visiting this website has ever or is currently contemplating thoughts of suicide, remember that God so loved you and the rest of the world that He sent his one and only Son to die for you. The Bible says in Jeremiah 31:3, "I have loved you with an everlasting love." Remember these three things: "Every life is a precious life," suicide is NEVER the correct answer, and don't be afraid to ask a person if they are thinking about suicide!! It's always better to be safe than to be sorry!!

Evangelism

One of the programs Christian Way Ministries believes is extremely important is evangelism. Jesus said to the disciples in Matthew 28:19, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Hence, it is our prayer that the Lord's will be done on earth as it is in heaven by allowing us multiple opportunities to go spread the Greatest News the world has ever received! LET'S GO!!!
